Noemi Luz dancing Flamenco

The next Spanish Night (South) at Cornerstone Arts Centre, Didcot will be on Saturday 24 June.

For this performance we are thrilled to announce that the visiting professional company will be "Grupo Noemi Luz" from Sevilla, who are presenting a small number of shows in the UK this summer. Noemi Luz is the creative dancer behind the hugely successful modern Flamenco group "Dot, dot, dot" who have appeared in theatres in Spain, Europe and also as part of the legendary Sadlers Wells Flamenco festival last year. For our show Noemi will be accompanied by another of the dancing "Dots", the lovely Magdalena Mannion. Together with their guitarist and singer, this will be the first time we have been able to bring these dancers to perform at one of our Spanish Night shows and we hope you'll be as excited as we are to see dancers of this calibre in such an intimate and atmospheric performance space.

Now in their 7th year, our Spanish Night shows are a very popular feature on the Oxfordshire arts scene. The Spanish Nights at Cornerstone Arts Centre are held in their ground floor cafe/restaurant which is transformed for the night into a typical Spanish Flamenco tablao. This small venue, where top quality Flamenco is up-close and powerful, is perfect for Flamenco shows, so we recommend buying your tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

For our shows the cafe is set up in the cabaret style with tables of different sizes and your ticket price includes a selection of Spanish Bar snacks on each table.

*there are not many tickets left for this show, please contact Cornerstone and book your tickets as soon as possible. All previous Spanish Night shows have sold out and this will be our final Spanish Night show in the Cornerstone cafe.

Tandem Festival celebrates culture, fosters cooperation and inspires change, and we’re back for our 3rd edition! This summer the Tandem experience comes to life from 16th - 18th June in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside at Lower Farm, Ramsden. Cycle powered, volunteer fuelled and community led, Tandem brings you different worlds of music, art, talks, workshops, film screenings and food. At Tandem, what’s good for your ears, eyes and dancing shoes can be good for the planet too!

Our diverse lineup includes internationally acclaimed bands from prog-folk to Nordic jazz acapella, late night DJs, gypsy and Greek sets, folk musicians from around the world and the best of local talent. At Tandem, it’s all about an unforgettable listening experience. Our intimate spaces enable bands to experiment with new arrangements and resonant performances, while our open-air main stage is loud and proud for you to dance your socks off.

As well as music, the festival will be packed with dance, storytelling, film, talks, crafts, creative space and eco-friendliness. We also have an incredible programme of workshops to introduce you to topics from laughter yoga and massage to bike maintenance and feminism for dads.

Eco-friendliness and inclusivity are at the heart of our festival. We incentivise low-carbon transport to the festival (get on your bike!), avoid non-recyclable waste, upcycle everything we can and only serve veggie/vegan ethically and locally sourced food. The site is step-free and family-friendly with unisex and accessible toilets. Get in touch if you have any queries.
