Get ready, ‘cause here come the boys! Bringing together some of the finest boylesque performers the UK has to offer; we’re taking masculinity and embracing it in all its forms – celebrating the good and lampooning the bad. Equal parts salivating and side-splitting, Magic Mike meets Tragic Mike in this showcase of all the “wrong” ways to be a man.

With dazzling showboys, innovative drag kings and just a dash of circus, all wrapped up in satirical striptease, this is a show you don’t want to miss! Starring performers of all shapes, sizes, and genders, we’re pushing boundaries and showing there’s more than one way to be sexy and masc!

Featuring:

Sigi Moonlight
Member of Pan-Asian Cabaret Collective The Bitten Peach and the Drag King Collective PECS, Sigi Moonlight has performed all over from clowning around at Glastonbury to bringing inflatable penis fights to Shakespeare’s Globe. They are known for mixing suave, sophisticated boylesque with clowning and politics so outrageous that they were once banned from performing in Canada.

Jay Division
Jay Division (he/him) made his long-awaited return to the stage for OxPHWOARd in March 2022, and can’t wait to reveal all once again for his favourite audience! His dynamic performances wow the crowd, finding a midpoint in the triad of alluring, camp and hilarious with his array of boylesque and lip-syncing routines.

Dr D Lo
Originally from the deep South of Brazil, Dr D Lo is a neuroscientist, aerialist and performer. D Lo is a pole and aerial instructor and, when not in the lab, you can find him teaching and training in different studios in London… or performing in his pants in a cabaret around the Southeast!

Mr Honey Buns and Miss Cherry Buns
This delightful duo, now forced to dance together for the sake of their marriage (despite neither of them wanting to), will give you an insight into the Wicked Games that 8 years of marriage brings. Allow them to take you on a wild ride and let’s find out together which one wears the trousers in this relationship.

And hosted by Frisky Whispers
Glamorous, sultry, and a little bit tacky! This dazzling showboy and queer cabaret performer has a flair for flamboyant burlesque and isn’t afraid to show it. Frisky Whispers will have you salivating at every glove peel, fan twirl, and crotch shot!

Join us for a tantalising evening you won’t soon forget!

The poster for "Woodhill" in which a doll of a man in prison uniform is about to be flicked by a giant hand

“I dance in the horror of grief.”

Three men at Woodhill prison are dead. The families demand answers. This is a call to arms about the crisis facing prisons.

Gut-punching choreography and unflinching beats shine a light on the hidden story of HMP Woodhill. Lyrically told in their own words, three families investigate what happened to their boys. What they discover is so haunting, it turns their world upside down.

Direct from its run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, don’t miss this explosive true story by multi-award-winning LUNG.

It’s summer. It’s hot. Like really hot. Like ice pop after melting ice pops hot. Like orange midday sun hot.

Across the divide of a scorched basketball court two girls meet, shoot hoops and discover their shared obsessions make them inseparable friends. But will faith, growing pains and the darker reactions of others get in the way of that long, hot, orange summer?

A decade later the past walks back into view when 18-year-old Amina is confronted by her childhood best friend Tandeki. Can they reignite the spark of friendship by untangling their hurt feelings, or are some heartbreaks just too hard to mend?

Hot Orange follows Amina and Tandeki as they navigate what it takes to sustain love and friendship beyond childhood idealism and the moment you fall in love.

Hot Orange, by Amal Khalidi and Tatenda Naomi Matsvai, is the latest production from Half Moon, the UK’s leading small-scale young people’s venue and touring company. It will be presented in their multi-award winning immersive theatrical style, exquisitely framed within an evocative soundscape.

Running time: 60 mins

For ages 13+

Enter the world of the Lazurr Tuts, a world-famous, guitar wielding, foot stomping punk band made up of misfits and outcasts. They are in the business of making music and speaking out, and you have been invited into an exclusive rehearsal.

Dance, sing, shout, whisper, stomp, spin, sign and shake with the Lazurr Tuts on a journey of self-expression. No matter how loud or soft, the Lazurr Tuts want you to know, that what you have to say is important. Set your inner anarchist free and celebrate the joys of being you in a safe, caring environment in which everyone is equal.

Punk Alley is a show full of heart that asks big questions, creating a vibrant and fun space for young people to explore what they want to use their voice to fight for. Plastic....is it friend or foe? Remarkable or rubbish? Helpful or harmful?

Plastic Drastic Fantastic is a contemporary dance theatre work for children and their families.

The show explores humanity's complex relationship with plastics – the fantastic possibilities they offer, as well as the drastic consequences to the environment.

Drawing from the Indian classical dance form Bharatanatyam and South Asian dance techniques, the artists investigate plastics and the dangers of their misuse through intricate movement, gestures and play, infused with interaction with the audience.

The processes and stories underpinning this dance project have been steered by children and young people, who are at the heart of the research for this work, created in consultation with material scientists at UCL.

Designed to be accessible for D/deaf audiences, Plastic Drastic Fantastic is a vibrant, fun and thought-provoking show for our time.

An Akademi and Polka Theatre co-production.
