Timing:
10-4pm
Cost:
Standard Cost: £75 / Pay Less: £60 / Pay more: £90

When? Friday 23 February, 10-4pm, with 1 hour lunch break

What? Have fun experimenting with mixing colours and trying new combinations in paint. Then, working from various objects or images, learn how to simplify and extract the essentials to create an abstract or semi-abstract painting.

We will begin with mixing colours using acrylic paint to find new combinations and a colour scheme you like which can be applied to a painting you will do based on either a single or a group of objects, or a postcard of a scene of some kind. Alison will take you through some simple steps from drawing the object or scene to creating an abstract version which can be as expressive as you would like!

At the end of the workshop you will take away your own abstract painting on canvas and any preparatory work you have made throughout the day.

Who? Suitable for beginners and those wishing to work in a more abstract way; age 16+ (under 18s should attend with an adult). Max group size: 12.

How? Purchase tickets here - https://www.ovada.org.uk/shop/p/colour-a...

Materials? Please bring the following with you:

acrylic paints in a range of colours

paint brushes

pencils and a rubber

paper or sketchbook

1-2 canvases (roughly size 40x40cm)

We do have some materials at OVADA, if you do not have any of the above materials then please get in touch and we will do our best to help!

Tea and coffee is provided but please bring your own lunch with you.
