Section of the Waterloo Cartoon by Shaun Maloney, a highly detailed black and white pencil sketch depciting a scene from the Battle of Waterloo. A dense crowd of soldiers, some on horseback, others on foot.

Inspired by the 19th Century Waterloo Cartoon by Daniel Maclise, veteran and artists Shaun Maloney has produced his own incredibly detailed drawing of the famous battle of 1815. See his creation alongside a range of Waterloo-era objects and artwork from the museum's own collections, rarely seen outside the archives, and learn more about the battle from itself with informative panels.

Watch the timelapse video of Shaun as he drew the piece, and see the art come to life before your eyes.
