Wolfson College Arts Society and Wolfson College Music Society presents: Cinemúsica, A project by Marcelo Bratke and Mariannita Luzzati

A piano recital entitled Carnival Trilogy, by internationally acclaimed pianist, Marcelo Bratke, featuring music inspired by nature by Heitor Villa-Lobos, Darius Milhaud, and Ernesto Nazareth, presented with a film/scenario about nature conceived and directed by Brazilian visual artist, Mariannita Luzzati.

A drinks reception celebrating the opening of Mariannita Luzzati’s exhibitions at Wolfson College will be held in the Haldane Room after the concert.

Recently acclaimed by The New York Times for his performance of Villa- Lobos at Carnegie Hall, Marcelo Bratke has performed frequently in the world's most prestigious concert halls, including the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Salzburg Festival and Suntory Hall in Tokyo, among others. He is the founder of Camerata Brasil and the Villa-Lobos Worldwide Project. Marcelo Bratke received Brazil’s highest cultural honour given by the Brazilian President Michel Temer, the Order of Cultural Merit and his album dedicated to Ernesto Nazareth was elected by The Daily Telegraph as one of the best classical recordings of all time.

Mariannita Luzzati is a Brazilian visual artist who lives and works between São Paulo and London. She is widely recognised for her extensive study of landscapes and her work focuses on the effect mankind has on nature. Luzzati has exhibited internationally in Brazil, United Kingdom, Italy, United States, Serbia, Vietnam, and Japan, including the 22nd International Biennial of São Paulo. Her works are part of public art collections in Europe, USA, Japan, and Brazil.
