Popular, folk and choral music from UK, Italy and Europe performed by three choirs from Oxford and Padova. Come and join us as we celebrate the growing friendship between our cities!

This exciting and fun concert, organised by the twinning association Oxford Padova Link and supported by Oxford City Council, showcases the musical talents of Oxford and our twin city of Padova with three very different choirs:

Oxford’s Man Choir, directed by Philip Read, will perform songs from their repertoire of classic pop and folk songs. Their set will include Neil Young’s Old Man, Caravan of Love, Brothers in Arms and more.

Oxford Youth Choirs, with singers aged from 8-18 are directed by Amy Chang and Margaret Lingas. They will sing a selection of choral music including the traditional Sumer is icumen in, the Flower Duet from Lakmé by Delibes, Cuckoo by Benjamin Britten and two arrangements by Oxford singer and composer Roderick Williams.

The second half of the concert features a guest choir from Padova, Blubordò with their sister choir Choritaly, singing a range of Italian and English popular music, directed by Alessandra Pascali and featuring the tenor Vittorio Zambon. Their set includes Magic, Albachiara, Here's to you by Ennio Morricone, Con te partirò and finishes with the ever-popular O sole mio.

Finally the choirs will join forces for a rendition of A Million Dreams from ‘The Greatest Showman’. There are sure to be some surprises too!
