This year, we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Windrush Generation. The Windrush generation refers to the incredible individuals who journeyed to the UK between 1948 and 1971 from Caribbean countries, mainly Jamaica, on the iconic HMT Empire Windrush. They were invited by the British government to help rebuild the country after World War II and were granted indefinite leave to remain.
