Venue, Timing and Cost
When? Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June, 10-4pm
What? An exciting and dynamic 2 day course exploring working from flowers; cultivated, wild and weed. Over the course of the weekend, we will experiment with drawing from physical feel, from memory as well as from observation.
Far from a traditional still life set up, flowers will be our portal into a sensual and media pushing journey. Expect immersive drawing exercises from large, human-sized works on rolls of lining paper with charcoal, rags and ink, to tiny scattered marks using pointillist water based crayons inspired by touching the flowers with eyes closed.
A wide variety of media and papers will allow attendees to really play with their marks in a supportive and inspiring setting. Have you ever drawn the taste of a rose petal? Imagined how the inside of a bud might look and feel ? We’re excited to bring this workshop to OVADA for the very first time.
Who? All welcome; no experience necessary; age 16+ (under 18s should attend with an adult). Max group size: 8
