Venue, Timing and Cost
Flowers and Fruit.
Students will learn how to compose and set up a tabletop still-life arrangement, using fruit, flowers and crockery arranged in a naturalistic setting. They will then spend the remainder of the course painting their set up from life, practising drawing, composition, colour, tone and paint application. We will use as inspiration some tabletop works from Bonnard and Vuillard. Stacey will demonstrate alongside students, as well as offer individual critique and guidance throughout. Students are welcome to bring favourite plates, bowls, cups, cuttings from the garden, etc to work from to supplement the supplied objects. The course will be taught in oils and students should come to the course with some experience of using oils.
Students will be working on canvases with a minimum size of 50 x 70cm.
