A programme based around songs and the imagery that they evoke. In the first part, Boulanger, Swanson and Britten set poems about the moon. Sonatas by Debussy, Britten and Walker broaden the theme and each part includes a set of Beethoven variations on an aria from The Magic Flute.

Winner of BBC Young Musician at the age of just 15, Laura van der Heijden is a very special emerging talent, captivating audiences with the sensitivity of her sound and interpretations. She performs as soloist with leading orchestras and is a passionate chamber musician. Signed to Chandos, her first CD ‘Pohádka’ with Jâms Coleman, piano, was released in 2022.

Jâms Coleman performs as concerto soloist, chamber musician and vocal accompanist. He has collaborated with instrumentalists such as Hélène Clément, Timothy Ridout and Ben Goldscheider and singers including James Gilchrist and Alish Tynan. Recent highlights include a Radio 3 broadcast from St David’s Hall, Cardiff with Sir Bryn Terfel and recitals in Oxford Lieder Festival.
