The German tenor Werner Güra has always had song at the heart of his varied and prestigious career. His many recordings with the pianist Christoph Berner have all won prizes and garnered acclaim, and the duo have performed together in all the leading recital venues. We are delighted to welcome them to Oxford for the first time as part of our Schubert Weekend. Their programme of Schubert ballads includes the dramatic setting of Schiller’s 'Der Taucher', a thrilling tale of medieval chivalry and corrupted power.
