2022 is the 75th anniversary of the twinning of the cities of Oxford and Bonn and so this is an especially apt moment to launch a new international partnership with the BeethovenFestBonn. Their Artistic Director, Steven Walter, devised this tantalising programme that will be performed at both festivals, blending poets’ differing perspectives of life and love through a reading of Thomas Mann’s novella 'Tonio Kröger', interspersed with Schumann’s 'Dichterliebe' and Elena Langer’s 'Landscape for Three People'. Our Emerging Artist slot includes songs by the Bonn-born Romantic composer Johanna Kinkel.

Generously supported by Bernard & Sarah Taylor.
