Radical Threads is a monthly open group meeting that is both a forum for textile thinking with time for making in conversation.

The sessions are semi structured, with the initial 1/2 hour for a guest maker to present work with time for Q and A’s, and there will then be time for individual making along side group discussion.

The group will start as a monthly meeting, on the first Tuesday of the month led by artist Claudia Panatti

What you need to bring to Radical Threads
Participants should bring projects that they are currently working on, or a new project that they would like to start, along with any threads, yarns and other associated materials that will be needed to advance their individual project.

Claudia Panatti is an artist teacher and will be the lead for the Radical Threads group.

“The work I created for the MA Artist Teacher scheme used autoethnography and sense-making using small stories, figurative speech, and lyrics to create artwork. Using personal lived experience as a starting point, specific narratives were documented and re-told using embroidery, paper cutting and metal stamping and placed predominantly on tableware and other everyday objects. More recent work has focused on lyrics re-worked as hand-cut paper pieces. I have a degree in Fashion and I am currently a teacher of art.”
