James Ham

James Ham conducts the Oxford Sinfonia in Rameau's Overture to Les Indes Galantes, Debussy's Petite Suite, Ravel's Tombeau de Couperin and Beethoven's Symphony No 1. the first three pieces explore the development of French music over the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. Beethoven's 1st Symphony was premiered on 2 April 1800 and effectively served to announce Beethoven's talents to Vienna: it remains as popular as it was then.
