Three fabulous emerging companies, three distinctly different performances in one evening of glorious dance…Moving with the Times.

For many years Dancin‘ Oxford and Pegasus Theatre have commissioned three dance works as one of the highlights of the Spring Festival. This year the companies are
Excessive Human Collective – Post Truth Whatever
Three female performers create and broadcast propaganda in a fictional world which is eerily similar to our own. We watch as they slip in and out of control of the hegemonic narrative they are trying desperately to weave. Post Truth Whatever explores hyper normalisation, political doublespeak, and how we engage with digital tools to access information.
Night People Events – The Rave Girl
Housed within a colourful visual landscape, the rave girl explores how hype, rave, and expression can collide, creating a complex, yet otherworldly persona that demands to be seen. She enters space with a desire to entertain and command, riding bass heavy sounds as she presents her world of invitation & euphoria.
Phoebe Tompsett Dance – The Daily Male
In light of the horrific murders of Sarah Everard and Sabina Nessa, this work casts a stark light on the measures that women are forced to take every day simply to remain safe. Underpinned by real-life interviews and online comments, this piece questions whether the modern-day woman is truly liberated without her safety.
