Venue, Timing and Cost
Too often when we go to an art gallery we flip around dutifully, our responses going no further than, “I like this…I don’t like those”. ‘I like that should be the cue for more intense looking. Poems about works of art give us a pleasurable way of achieving just that.
This year Jeux d’Esprit is giving a live performance with actors reading poems by poets such as Thom Gunn, W.H.Auden and Walter de la Mare while Brian Cheadle illuminates paintings by Bruegel, Caravaggio, L.S.Lowery, and many others, projected on the walls.
