Venue, Timing and Cost
Join us for this open-to-all art viewing session at Fusion, which will follow on from a climate action creative dialogue / activity event that is running the day before.
At this viewing, we will look at the outcomes of environmentally conscious artwork that has been left out in the elements for 24 hours as part of a pilot experiment. There'll be the chance to have a drink while looking at what we've made, examining which approaches were and were not successful, reflecting on the results of the experiment and thinking about how we can move forward with this work.
We will also be using our findings to discuss and address the questions of whether / how the arts can support climate action.
Artists involved include Marie Darkins, John Blythe, Joanna Kidner, Asmaa Mahmud, Juliet Eccles, Anthony Eccles and Melissa Rodd.
This session is free and open to all - including children (accompanied by an adult).
Advance registration for this event is essential. Book your place here: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/red-alert-environ...
This is the second part of a two-day event: the first day is a family-friendly participatory art, storytelling and knowledge-sharing session. You can attend one or both events. Please note: You must book separately for Saturday's event.
These events are part of Oxfordshire's Great Big Green Week; 8 days of events (18 – 26th September) helping and encouraging people and organisations to act and help tackle the climate crisis, and to protect and improve our environment. The week is part of the national Great Big Green Week and will take place five weeks before world leaders meet in Glasgow for the United Nations ‘COP26’ Climate Conference.
