Venue, Timing and Cost
Oxlip Theatre Company is thrilled to present A Midsummer Night's Dream, in the magical setting of Wytham Woods - over midsummer weekend!
About this event
Oxlip Theatre Company, an ensemble of local 16-18 year olds, is finally back in the rehearsal room and getting ready for their midsummer performance of Midsummer Night's Dream in the magical outdoor setting of Wytham Woods, Oxford.
Under the guidance of director Ruth Platt (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0686903/), they have devised a fast-paced, unique and contemporary version of the heady lovers' quarrel.
Performances will take place on the evenings of Saturday 19th June (8pm) and Sunday 20th June (7.30pm). (Regrets - no matinees.)
For people unable to manage the 15-20 minute walk from Wytham Car Park to the woodland theatre (and back again), there will be a free shuttle available, starting one hour before the start of each show, and again after the show.
Groups can be seated in bubbles of (up to) six, and tickets (including a drink at the interval) are £12 for adults and £7 for children.
Bring blankets and something waterproof and comfy to sit on, and umbrellas just in case!
For £3 return, a mini-bus will provide transfers from central Wolvercote to Wytham Car Park in time to walk to the performance site. Parking is also available
Please arrive in good time for the 15 minute brisk walk to the woodland theatre setting. Disabled parking is available next to the performance site, although please be aware that access to the auditorium is a little bumpy.
The show is suitable for 8 years plus. Younger children are welcome, however. Toilets are available on site. We regret that as this is an entirely voluntary non-profit initiative, there are no refunds.
