Exploring the craft of songwriting in all pop genres from Rock ’n’ Roll to Hip Hop.

The course will look at how songs are made, from sparks of inspiration to the construction of lyrics, rhythms, and melodies, to the mechanics of production.

Singer songwriter and spoken word poet Steve Larkin will guide participants through an Arts Award Bronze course which examines how diverse successful musical artists create songs.

With practical advise on lyrics, music, vocal coaching and production on DAW’s such as Bandlab and Ableton Live.

Whether you’re into Billie Eilish or The Beatles, Lewis Capaldi or Kanye or Stormzy, The Arctic Monkeys or Ariana Grande this course will aim to uncover the formulas that help make the songs you love and help you love making songs!
