Venue, Timing and Cost
What do British folk traditions, the middle ages, and polyrhythmic interplay have in common? They all have a home in the capable hands of Filkin’s Drift. As “exquisite tune playing” and “irresistible grooves” combine, Seth and Chris’ diverse musical influences come together to create a truly unique fiddle and guitar sound.
The debut EP of the Birmingham-based pair Filkin’s Drift deftly combines original tunes and traditional songs. Receiving BBC airplay from Genevieve Tudor, the tunes draw influence from the Afro-Cuban bembé, EDM, and their native folk traditions of Wales and England.
The duo have been productive during lockdown. Their ‘tune a week’ project has seen them collaborating with musicians from across the globe including Angharad Jenkins (Calan), Dan Walsh, Ruth Keggin, and Ellie Gowers.
