‘Who I am is probably not who I would choose to be, but it’s who I have to be.’

Sandra is doing her Christmas shopping. She has bags loaded with Christmas shopping for her family. As she waits for the bus, exhausted by her trip, she faints. She awakes to what looks like a homeless woman leaning over her and presumes she is being robbed. Sandra initially turns on the woman but then realises the woman is trying to help her.

Written in 2017, this short play by Bev Clarke explores several themes experienced by the two women. After the initial encounter filled with accusation and prejudice, they find solace in each other’s company, enabling them to confide in each other with the issues facing them.
