In recent weeks we have all been deprived of life and figure work, and rust has been setting in!

So, here’s the perfect solution to dusty sketchbooks and un-honed skills: a two-day life and figure drawing and painting workshop.

The first day we will start with some testing exercises, then rapid sketching from the model, followed by increasingly longer and more challenging poses – all nude. There will then be the opportunity to work on a longer mutually agreed pose, for at least 3.5 hours. All work will then be critiqued.

On the second day the model will be clothed for the most part. There will be some careful studies made, and then the model will assume the same long pose as the day before for a similarly extended session of work – the idea being to allow the first day’s work to inform, facilitate and lend understanding to the second. We will again finish the day with an extended critique and appreciation.

There will be a simple backdrop/setting, as current space restrictions allow.
