Venue, Timing and Cost
What is Modernist Painting? The Tate Gallery describes is as …’ A rejection of history and conservative values (such as realistic depiction of subjects); innovation and experimentation with form (the shapes, colours and lines that make up the work) with a tendency to abstraction; and an emphasis on materials, techniques and processes….’
On this course you will devise and build a semi abstract composition over two days. You will be taken through a process beginning with collecting information, selection and rejection of material through to working in colour, with reference to some of the mid-20th century painters.
The emphasis will be on shape, lines, colour and its application, as vehicles for the build!
