Gender is a construct.
Oh no it isn’t!
Oh yes it is!

Ever wonder what happens when you unleash a load of drag performers on a classic British genre like pantomime? You’re about to find out.

Oxford’s very own Oxfordshire Drag Collective brings you Away with the Fairies: a Queer Drag Panto. With parody songs and camp classics galore, this gender bending, ridiculously queer mashup of Jack and the Beanstalk and A Midsummer Night’s Dream promises to be a show you won’t forget in a hurry. Not to mention the addition of sentient potatoes, queer challenges to the Panto status quo and a sexy plot device.

It’s a tale as old as time, adventure loving boy trades his talking, socialist horse for a magic love spud and pandemonium ensues. Will the village ever recover? What happens when you unleash an immortal fairy couple’s version of a kid to fix the marriage on mere mortals? Will love, kindness and inclusivity prevail? You’ll have to see our show to find out. Oh yes, you will.

ABOUT THE OXFORDSHIRE DRAG COLLECTIVE
Founded in Jan 2018 by mother of the Oxford drag scene Ginger Tart, the Oxfordshire Drag Collective has been making queer waves across Oxford, fostering new drag talent in an inclusive and welcoming environment. Having performed at Oxford Pride, Queerfest and OxPHWOARd, this group knows how to put on an exciting show. They’re also not afraid to stand up for what they believe in and LGBTQ+ rights and inclusivity is at the heart of what they do. Fresh from their string of sell-out shows at the Jericho Tavern, this jaw-dropping group of dragons are here to show you that there are many ways to be queer and they are all fabulous.

POLICY

Any behavior of this sort will result in expulsion from the event without refund. Treat everyone with respect and we’ll send that love right on back to you
