XR Oxford Art-Science EXtravaganza

Extinction Rebellion Oxford is collaborating with Oxford University Museum of Natural History (OUMNH) on an arts-science festival aiming to take public awareness of the climate and ecological crisis to a new level. There is a diverse programme of activities aimed at all age groups, including talks, mass performance actions and multi-media arts activities

The event involves two sessions of the XR talk: ‘Heading for Extinction - and what to do about it’ at 11:00 and 14:30. There will be performance actions immediately before and after the talks. XR Oxford is partnering with the Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS) on these actions to highlight the threat that deforestation poses to all life on earth.

Throughout the event there will be actions by and talks for young people, films and animations by Conservation Optimism, poetry reading, storytelling, bumblebee activities for primary children, workshops and opportunities for the public to engage with XR Oxford members, OUMNH staff, climate scientists and ecologists.
