You are in for a fun, messy day making moulds for casting glass. This day will be for making moulds and preparing for firing. On the 20th (or an evening to suit) you will pop back to de-mould your pieces and cold work as necessary.
Bring along 2 found objects, one no bigger than 8x8cm and one about the size of a matchbox car. The larger will be used to make a mould using the lost wax method and the smaller to make a silicon mould for the freeze and fuse method. You will make several other moulds too, using clay as the form for your finished glass piece.
The different glass types that will be used are: glass billet, sheet, frit and powder.
Make sure you wear old clothes and closed toe shoes.
Lunch will be included for the 6th and refreshments available throughout.
