The award-winning Foyle-Štšura Duo bring a lunchtime concert set against the backdrop of Vienna.

Focusing on three composers from the famous city, the programme opens with Beethoven’s joyful Sonata for Piano and Violin in G major. Almost a century passed before Strauss composed his passionate Violin Sonata in E flat major. The ‘Improvisation’ at the heart of the work sets the scene for Fritz Kreisler, the master of the Viennese miniature, and his farewell work Viennese Rhapsodic Fantasietta.

Evoking a glamorous and aristocratic lost world the recital draws a curtain on the Viennese ballroom for the 20th Century with a series of nostalgic and virtuosic waltzes.
