Looped cordage bags

Making a looped cordage bag is one of the best uses for cordage, an ancient process used by our hunter-gatherer ancestors. Come and make your own beautifully useful bag to carry your water bottle, phone, etc. on this 2 day workshop with Ruby Taylor from Native Hands.
Having prepped the plant fibres, you'll settle into the repetitive rhythm of making cordage, twining it and looping it into a bag. A variety of looping techniques will be shown, depending on which type of bag you decide to make. (NB. If you want to make a bag to hold your water bottle, please remember to bring your water bottle with you, max.size 1/2 litre.)
Guidance and tuition will be on hand to support you through all the stages of the making process, and there will be a range of sample baskets to handle. You'll leave knowing all you need to make a looped cordage bag from start to finish.
The course is suitable for people who've had a go at making cordage before, or for beginners who have good hand skills.
Ruby Taylor, who runs Native Hands, is a trained teacher with over 20 years' experience, who specialises in relaxed and inclusive courses using foraged materials.
