Join us for a unique opportunity to see the wide range of creative work that goes on behind the normally closed doors of Crisis Skylight Oxford. In a relaxed and informal performance we will share examples of the creative writing, acting, music and art work made by people that are homeless.

The evening will include a scratch performance of Peggy’s Super Soupers, a new play being written and devised by Crisis clients in the Acting and Writing class. Peggy’s Super Soupers is set in a local soup kitchen where the lonely, dispossessed and sometimes downright weird gather together to enjoy the warmth not only of Peggy’s soup but of each others company.

We run more than 500 creative classes a year at Crisis Skylight Oxford, providing a safe space to relax, get creative, interact with others and re-engage with the world after the trauma of homelessness. In fact, for many Crisis clients, arts classes are the first steps on their journey out of homelessness. The sense of achievement and recognition can be a catalyst for positive change.

Crisis Skylight Oxford offers education, training and support to adults that are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless or have been homeless in the last two years. In everything we do we are committed to ending homelessness. This work takes place at The Old Fire Station, a building we share with Arts at the Old Fire Station.

Please be aware that this is an informal sharing of work by people that are homeless, not a professional performance.
