Venue, Timing and Cost
Explore the elements of an Art & Design Foundation course across a variety of disciplines.
Over four consecutive Saturdays (17, 24 November, 1 and 8 December 2018), you will have the opportunity to explore a diverse range of techniques and processes. Drawing is fundamental to Art & Design and good drawing skills are strongly recommended for entry to the foundation course, therefore you will have the opportunity to experiment with life drawing in a variety of media and approaches, along with structured drawing projects. These may include Printmaking, Graphics, Textiles, Drawing on location, 3D Sculpture or Ceramics in order to ensure that you will have a broad range of work at the end of the course. Classes are run with a low ratio of staff to students – approximately one tutor for every 10 students, which allows for in-depth learning and development.
One to one portfolio advice will be given as well as instructions on how to mount and present your work in your portfolio.
Please note that topics covered will be subject to tutor availability.
Homework in the form of a Daily Drawing Diary will be given and is a requirement of the course.
