If you would really like to do some drawing, but what stops you is that you feel you have to draw an actual thing (and more to the point – be able to draw it well), then this drawing course is for you.

As with all my classes, this course is all about being curious. The emphasis is very much on discovering what you can create with drawing materials and techniques, and enjoying the process, rather than focusing on producing a perfect end result. Join me for 6 evenings of getting stuck into drawing and rediscover how fun and relaxing it can be.

Each session you will be trying something new. We will cover lots of different ways of drawing including mark marking, creating pattern and using objects as starting points for creating drawings. There will be a chance to try out a whole range of different drawing materials including charcoal, pencil, fineline pen, pastels and crayons. There will also be the chance to start to draw from life, but completely at your own pace and when you are ready.

Plus there will be an ongoing sketchbook project during the course, with ideas to get stuck into each week if you would like to continue drawing between classes.

You can expect to come away from the 6 week course feeling confident about continuing to draw at home on a regular basis for fun and relaxation, knowing which materials you like to use, and ready to fill up any remaining pages in your sketchbook!
