Three lovely days of fun experimenting with painting – you can expect to come away from this painting summer school feeling thoroughly relaxed (rather like going on retreat!), creative, inspired, and with a great sense of accomplishment and wellbeing.

My Painting Summer School is for you if you:

- Are an absolute beginner and haven’t picked up a paintbrush since school

OR

- You have done a little bit of painting before (perhaps on one of my classes), and find that you would love to do some more painting, but just don’t seem to be able to make the time to do this at home.

What the painting summer school will involve:

Day 1: Introducing acrylic paints. You will be trying out lots of different ways of using these, from painting with brushes, your hands, printing and palette knives. The focus of today will be all about experimentation and curiosity, and you will be producing lots of pieces of abstract artwork.

Day 2: Producing compositions. In the morning you will be exploring making painted collages, from some of the work you produced yesterday. And the afternoon will be spent starting to paint from observation – creating paintings of flowers and leaves, and incorporating all of the techniques you have learned so far over the past few days.

Day 3: Your own project. Today you will be painting on canvas – and you are able to choose whatever you would like to paint. You might like to continue with abstraction, flowers, produce a sky or seascape, or perhaps bring an image with you that you would like to work from.

Over the three day summer school you will be producing over 20 paintings each, plus two finished canvases to hang on your wall! Place are limited to 5 people to make sure you have plenty of support and help with your work.

Price includes all of your materials, two A3 canvases, refreshments and homemade cake, and a pack of art materials to take home with you to continue your painting at home. All you need to bring is a packed lunch each day and your curiosity!
