For several years Moonrakers (www.moonrakers.net) have been running weekend retreat workshops at Benslow Music in Herts. As part of Benslow's "outreach" programme, they are now bringing the successful format to Oxford for a day workshop. Whether you play fiddle, fretted instruments, whistles, flute, squeeze box or any other acoustic instrument, you're welcome to this course. Your professional tutors will be Jon Bennett (guitar, bouzouki, whistles, ukulele) and Liz van Santen (fiddle, concertina). We'll work through a variety of arrangements of folk tunes and songs throughout the day. You don't need to read music, but we can't take absolute beginners I'm afraid. We will cap the attendance at 15 so that it doesn't become too crowded. The music will be sent out in advance for those wishing to have a head start and you'll be directed to some of the sound files on YouTube. If you live in the Oxford area, Jon can even offer a private lesson in advance at his studio in Headington.

At about 5pm we'll have a showcase public performance of our best pieces - invite your friends and family! Also, there will be a short concert by the 4-piece Moonrakers to round off the event.
