Welcoming Jane Peckitt from Bailey Paints to the Craft Barn.

The Introduction to Decorative Painting techniques workshop will show you how to add decorative touches to your painted furniture. Working on boards using chalk paints and tiles, Jane will teach you the techniques needed to master craquelure, stencilling, gilding and decoupage.

In the workshop you will be covering:
Craquelure - a 2 part system where the 2 glazes react against each other form cracks. These are then highlighted with gilt creams, paint or colour wax to enhance the cracks.

Stencilling - from a selection of stencils we will learn the technique of stencilling that can be used on items of furniture or walls.

Decoupage - we will be using tumble porous tiles and paper napkins to stick onto the tiles. This is then trimmed and sealed with flat matt or satin varnish.

Gilding - using copper, silver or gold leaf we will be learning how to apply this delicate product with wonderful results.
