Explore drawing and line through walking, using a variety of experimental techniques, stimuli and media.
A one-day workshop to coincide with 'The Language of Line' exhibition at The Glass Tank (Oxford Brookes). The day will include a tour of the exhibition, which features new work from Ruth Broadbent's 'Imagined Lines' series, plus a chance to create artwork in response to walking and drawing. There will be a particular focus on line, considering drawing in its widest sense, with a range of experimental techniques, media and artist references included. Students will be encouraged to experiment and find new ways to experience and respond to their environment through drawing.
Suitable for anyone interested or intrigued, from beginners to the more experienced, or those wanting to expand their art portfolio and try out some different approaches to drawing. This course offers an in-depth look into drawing, walking art and line, and will enable you to broaden your awareness of creative practice in this area. Whether you want to find, develop, or extend your current creative practice, apply for a Foundation course, or add artwork to your University or College portfolio, this course will offer inspiration and ideas for creating your own innovative and experimental artwork.
