This course will enable you to create a two plate print using both contrasting colours and black for the same image.
It is designed for those with some basic knowledge of the etching process.
Initially you will draw onto and ‘bite’ a ‘hard-grounded’ copper plate using non toxic ferric chloride.

The inked image will be transferred onto a second ‘aquatinted’ plate using the etching press.
The first plate is then aquatinted, and both plates will then be ‘bitten’.
Finally you will have an opportunity to experiment with colour printing.
Bring source material (drawings or photographs) to work from.
This course forms a basis for those wishing to join Oxford Printmakers as longer term members.
