The gifted young professional musicians of London Firebird Orchestra make their Oxford debut with a musical journey taking us to the great cities of Europe.
Under the baton of 2015 Aspen Conducting Prize winner George Jackson we travel from Vienna and the birthplace of Mozart’s operas to Leipzig, host to the premiere of Mendelssohn’s dazzling violin concerto, and finally to London for one of Haydn’s greatest London symphonies – the ‘Drum Roll’.
The concert also features talented soprano Suzanne Fischer and violinist Benjamin Baker – winner at the 2016 Young Concert Artists International Auditions in New York.
