Over the past three decades, James Lisney has gained authority over this repertoire with acclaimed recordings, cyclic presentations at London’s South Bank Centre, the Leipzig Gewandhaus and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw; and later this year he will be taking his innovative Schubertreise series to Mumbai. As with all four of this year’s concerts, this programme draws from a wide range of Schubert’s thirteen year involvement with the piano sonata.
