Mixed ability class in which students are encouraged to find their own style through experimenting with different media. Full of creative entertainment, these classes are supported and guided by tutor Chrissie Borland.

Summary
These classes are themed every term to explore different aspects of painting and drawing.

Further Details
Inspired by the work of other artists and with demonstrations, exercises and projects students are encouraged to develop their own instinctive ways of working. Help and guidance is always on hand in a cheerful and creative environment.

Skills/Techniques Covered
The classes promote personal development with a better understanding of paint application/colour theory/tonal values/scale/composition/ the use of assorted drawing materials and more.

Level
all levels from beginners to experienced artists.

Materials
we mainly use acrylic paint but also charcoal/graphite/oil and soft pastels/ink etc depending on the theme for the term.

Please bring with you:
A set of good acrylic brushes is advisable, although a basic range of all materials is available students may supplement this with their own materials if they wish.

Tutor Profile
Chrissie Borland B.A. Hons Fine Art. Chrissie has enjoyed teaching groups and individual students for over sixteen years, and finds working with students informative and stimulating. She is a practising artist painting under the name Bryn Hillier and exhibits regularly in London. Although her work has covered many subjects and media over the years, her current concern is with experimental approaches to the figure, from large scale painting to small scale collage.

Refund Policy
Payment is required when booking. We regret that tickets may not be exchanged or refunded after purchase, except when an event is cancelled. For missed classes through tutor absence we will endeavour to schedule catch up sessions where possible. Partial refunds or credits will not be given.

Disabled Access
Regrettably, due to the historic nature of the building, not all classes are accessible by wheelchair. Please contact the box office should you have particular access requirements.
