Soprano Johannette Zomer and The Tulipa Consort

Internationally renowned soprano Johannette Zomer presents her latest recording ‘Laudate!’ on Saturday 12th November, with her Tulipa Consort at the Holywell Music Room in Oxford.

The Tulipa Consort is an ensemble founded by Johannette in 2013. For their first recording a selection has been made from the many wonderful sacred works composed by Antonio Vivaldi, the Red Priest of Venice. The programme includes Motets, including the splendid ‘Nulla in Mundo Pax’ and ‘Laudate Pueri Dominum’, and two beautiful arias from his only surviving oratorio, ‘Juditha Triumphans’.

Tulipa Consort are passionate about exploring 17th and early 18th century music; based in Holland, their name is inspired by the ‘Tulip Mania’ of the 17th century in the Low Countries. Their concert promises to be a programme of authentic and inspiring works in the unique atmosphere of Oxford's 18th century Holywell Music Room.
