Developing an awareness of coloured textures and surfaces in the structure of felt. Extending ones individual textile practice and personal development of work.

Exploring the layering of colour by mark making at each stage of the felt making process. Considering various proportion and sequences in the layering of different fibre, threads and fabric creating new surprises in the transformation of materials. Further structural changes can be developed at pre-felt stage suggesting ideas for composition and form.

Your design will develop through this process and in conjunction with other visual references. The tutor will offer encouragement to enable you to develop a personal approach to sampling various felted structures for one off art works, interior or fashion.

The cost of the weekend is £135 which includes coffee, tea and biscuits.  You will need to bring some lunch and some basic feltmaking equipment and materials if you have them.  If not they can be borrowed or purchased on the day.
