Project Overview: Bespoke and artistic Landscaped Seating Area

Budget: £5,500 (inclusive of all costs from design to creation and installation)

Location: Barrington Park, Shrivenham

Project Duration: January 2024 to April 2024

We are looking for experienced artists to design and make unique and distinctive benches/ seating area in the new development of Barrington Park, Shrivenham. We are looking for a local artist/ crafts person specialising in wood or artistic landscaping to create and install a seating area for the public open space in the development.

We would like our chosen artist, craftsperson or landscape designer to work with natural materials to create an imaginative and decorative, yet functional, community seating area using hard and soft landscaping ideas in keeping with the domestic and rural location.

Materials should be of high quality, robust and low maintenance and in line with the approved design.

Design Phase:

After collaborating with the local residents to understand their vision and requirements we would like you provide a design proposal, including sketches or renderings, costs and a timetable of works, for the residents and parish council approval.

Creation phase:

Build the seating area according to the approved design, overseeing any sub-contractors on site.

Maintain a meaningful relationship with local residents

Remove and/ or renovate existing bench and bin

Construct seating elements and any other specified features with appropriate health and safety measures.

Provide maintenance advice to the parish council
