The Corn Exchange houses a 400 seat theatre, a 40 seat cinema and a busy café bar: We are seeking an organised and proactive individual to oversee the seamless operation of the Trust's building and facilities and the smooth working of the Front of House activities.

The Operations Manager is a new role, created to bring together a range of responsibilities that have previously sat with different individuals in different departments into one integrated role with overall responsibility for ensuring our buildings are safe, efficient and welcoming to all. You will work closely with key colleagues (particularly the Head of Technical and Operations and Front of House and Events Manager) to achieve this, but accountability for providing a welcoming first-class audience experience in a safe and well-resourced environment will rest with this role.

Working for the Corn Exchange is varied and rewarding with no two days being the same. You will be someone who enjoys working with people and will have had experience of managing a large team. You will enjoy the challenge of creatively solving problems, dealing with the unexpected and thinking on your feet. You will also be proactive and experienced in dealing with third party service providers and contractors and understand how to run a public building.

We believe this role is a great progression route for someone with experience in a management role within a busy arts or leisure venue to step into a key leadership role and broaden their experience. We offer training and development opportunities to all our staff members alongside a focus on wellbeing for all our employees, and it goes without saying that you will need to be enthusiastic about the arts and entertainment and providing great customer service. This is a great time to join the organisation as we take on a capital development project, to open a new arts and wellbeing hub in 2024 to house our learning and participation activity.
