The Youth Wellbeing Officer is a new and dynamic role to offer encouragement, advice and service signposting to young people on the Creative Arts Programme (CAP).
The Youth Wellbeing Officer will assess and encourage referrals to CAP. They will be responsible for delivering ongoing pastoral support to young people as they transition through and from Prime’s programme. This role actively supports the delivery and moderation of Arts Award qualifications.
This is an opportunity to shape an important new role and to help create an integrated approach to arts engagement in Swindon
Key Outputs:
Offer pastoral support and service signposting to CAP participants
Increase successful CAP referrals from Swindon Borough Council and other Youth Services
Provide best practice techniques for associates working with vulnerable young people
Support partner organisations in the Arts & Heritage sector as they develop their own inclusive, proactive approaches to working with vulnerable young people
Advise Young People working towards Arts Award qualifications
Support young people on work placements or traineeships
Candidates must have the following skills:
A recognised youth, community, mentoring or mental health qualification at Level 3 or higher
At least 1 year's face to face experience supporting a range of vulnerable young people
Strong knowledge and understanding of child and adolescent mental health
Knowledge of local statutory and third sector mental health services available to young people
