We are seeking a Company Stage Manager (on the book) and Assistant Stage Manager to join the team for our nationally renowned traditional family pantomime. You will be joining a close-knit team delivering one of the most acclaimed pantos (no pop songs! no celebrities!) in one of the most beautiful small theatres in the country.

Company Stage Manager
We are looking for an experienced Company Manager to help create the show in rehearsals, and then deliver the production run. As well as being the main point of contact for the cast and creatives, duties will include: on the book in the rehearsal room, rehearsal notes, show reports, working with the Production Manager to deliver a smooth technical and dress rehearsal period, working with the venue’s Technical Manager, and two ASMs to reset for shows and keep all equipment in good working order, operating the show with the support of venue Technicians, and to complete any tasks as reasonably requested by the Producers or Production Manager.

Required Skills & Experience: Experience of venue-based producing theatre as a CSM or DSM, preferably with some experience of pantomime. Experience of creating rehearsal notes, call-sheets and production schedules. Working knowledge of Health and Safety in a theatre backstage environment. Calm, capable, creative problem-solver.

Rates: £525 p/w rehearsals, £615 p/w performances in Chipping Norton (Tier C), plus £195 p/w subsistence.

Dates: Rehearsals from October 24th 2022, Performances from 16th Nov - 15th Jan 2023.

We will also cover travel expenses at the beginning and end of the tour, and provide travel between venues. UK Theatre/Equity contract.

Assistant Stage Manager:
We are looking for a technically proficient Assistant Stage Manager to help prepare the production during rehearsals, and then deliver the production run. During the run, main duties will include set moving and scene changes (this is likely to be reasonably physical and involve heavy lifting), props setting and re-setting, costume setting, quick changes. During rehearsals, duties will include supporting the prop-maker, supporting the Production Manager and Technical Manager in fitting up the set and preparing the stage, supporting the Lighting and Sound Designers and Venue team in fitting up sound and lights for the production, supporting the Company Stage Manager in preparing rehearsal rooms and delivering rehearsals.

Required Skills & Experience: Experience in a professional or professional training context of working as an Assistant Stage Manager, experience of the theatre production process in a professional environment, ability to safely lift and move pieces of scenery, some technical knowledge with lights and sound a distinct advantage.

Rates: £460 per week, plus £195 p/w subsistence.
