About the role:

You will be greeting visitors to the Oxfordshire Museum, answering enquiries, and helping to maintain a high standard of presentation throughout the museum, including site house-keeping tasks as part of the weekly Museum maintenance day within the shift pattern.

Using your excellent customer service skills and experience in reception, you'll be an effective communicator, assisting and offering advice on customer queries in person, via email and telephone.

Daily duties will include reception services, promotion of the museum collections and services, encouraging sales in the museum shop, cash handling, as well as taking responsibility for monitoring galleries and exhibitions, ensuring the site is well-presented and collections are secure. An understanding of relevant Health & Safety requirements and a willingness to undertake appropriate training is therefore a requirement of the role.

Your shift pattern will be worked over a 4-week rota, including some weekend working, and could be subject to change with appropriate notice.

There will also be opportunities to work additional hours for special events that may take place out of normal opening hours and a willingness to provide leave/sickness cover is required.
