Creative Learning & Participation
Creative learning and participation are at the heart of Modern Art Oxford’s programme. We offer educational experiences for visitors of all ages, using art and creativity to reach thousands of people from Oxfordshire and beyond every year. Our activities are designed to help visitors explore our exhibitions, experiment with creative processes and celebrate the relevance of contemporary visual culture to society today.
Young People & Schools
Modern Art Oxford offers professional development opportunities for young people aged 16+ through our annual projects, City as Studio and Young Creatives. Working with schools, colleges, universities and community organisations, we support a culture of learning and participation, providing a creative space for young people to map out professional pathways for artistic development in Oxfordshire. Modern Art Oxford supports young people with commissioning opportunities to develop professional arts portfolios, leadership skills and achieve Silver Arts Awards. Additionally, each year, we invite eight Young Creatives to work with Modern Art Oxford to bring new perspectives to Modern Art Oxford’s programme. Young people working with Modern Art Oxford gain experience of working directly with artists and arts professionals, working collaboratively with the creative learning team.
Role
The Producer, Young People & Schools is a part-time fixed-term two-year role responsible for the planning and delivery, development and evaluation of Modern Art Oxford’s programme offer for young people and school groups. The position forms part of the Creative Learning & Participation team and is managed by the Senior Curator, Creative Learning & Participation. You will be working with the Creative Learning team to devise a series of workshops throughout the year for our City as Studio project and Young Creatives Saturday sessions, engaging young people with contemporary art and signposting future education and career pathways.
Contract: Fixed term April 2022 – March 2024
Hours: 2 days(16 hours), Thursdays and weekends depending on the programme
