We are excited to launch the Feeling Safe: Young People, Wellbeing and the Arts in Oxfordshire project funded by Artswork and Oxfordshire’s Contain Outbreak Management Fund (COMF). The overall aim of the Feeling Safe project is to support young people to improve their mental and physical health, following the difficulties created by the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns. We hope projects will allow children and young people to experience increased agency and leadership skills through their involvement, whilst building confidence by taking part in Digital Badges, Arts Award and Artsmark.

We are currently seeking a dynamic, creative and enthusiastic Creative Delivery Assistant to support our Artist-Led workshops in Schools. Delivered by professional artists, these creative workshops will take place throughout the 5 districts of Oxfordshire, supporting young people to use art to support positive mental health and working towards the national Art Bytes competition.

As Creative Delivery Assistant you will:
• Support the artist with the practical creative projects in 10 school settings across Oxfordshire (approx 2 x day delivery per school).
• Liaise with the artists and project team before the workshops to gain a full understanding of project aims, content and structure.
• Help the artist with logistic aspects including set up, delivery and clear up of workshops.
• Support the artist and students in creative expression in a non-pressured way, encouraging creativity, individual contribution and building confidence
• To contribute and support the projects evaluation process including recording evidence of workshops (i.e photographs / film with permission) as required.
• Follow current government guidelines to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and ensure all activity is delivered in-line with government recommendations.
• Adhere to all safeguarding policies, equality and diversity policies, and commit to a practice that encourages equality, diversity and inclusion.

YOUR SHORT APPLICATION WILL NEED TO DETAIL;
• Evidence of your experience in a similar cultural or school learning setting.
• Evidence of your experience of supporting delivery of creative activities with young people.
• Your approach to supporting creative workshops, that will help inspire young people to develop confidence, resilience and support positive mental health.
• Your approach to supporting artists in an enthusiastic and helpful way.
• Knowledge and understanding of adhering to all safeguarding policies, equality and diversity policies, and commitment to a practice that encourages equality, diversity and inclusion.

NOTES
• An indication of if you have a current and valid DBS check, and your ability to travel to schools across the county.
• In the event of moving our workshops to a digital format the learning assistant will be required to support getting materials and resources to schools, assisting with zoom delivery and set-up. In this circumstance we will discuss the re-arrangements.
• There is the opportunity for the candidate to attend training to support their work and continuing professional development.

The project is being delivered by the Cultural Education Partnership (CEP) for Oxfordshire. Oxford City Council, in partnership with Artswork, Oxfordshire County Council, Cherwell District Council, South Oxfordshire District Council, Vale of White Horse District Council, West Oxfordshire District Council, and the arts and cultural organisations in the city.
