Justice in Motion are seeking a highly professional, experienced, and reliable Stage Manager to join the team for their outdoor parkour-theatre show ON EDGE.

Main Purpose: The Stage Manager will support the Production Manager & Director in ensuring that all technical and logistical aspects of the rehearsals and performance are in place and support the safe and successful delivery of all performances of the show.

REHEARSAL-PERFORMANCE DATES:
Rehearsals: 7 – 25 June 2021 (6th June get-in / 26th June get-out)
Touring Period: July – October 2021
Film rehearsals & shoot: tbc / intended September-October 2021

Specific responsibilities include:

The SM will be responsible for assisting the Director during rehearsals.
To complete and maintain thorough show and rehearsal reports.
Create a prompt script and score through presence in rehearsals and by communication with the Director, Composer, or any other creative team members.
Maintain excellent communication between the rehearsal room and the rest of the organisation, by the use of rehearsal notes and Production Meetings. Particularly with matters relating to Health & Safety and which directly affect other departments.
Ensure that Health & Safety legislation is adhered to and that safe working practices are observed in the rehearsal room and on site under the direction of the Production Manager.
Assisting with the get-in, fit-up and plotting of the production, and helping to achieve the technical aspects of the production (including set, props, costumes, sound).
Running backstage and onstage areas during technical rehearsals & performances. You will also be required on stage during sections of the performance to adjust set elements (within costume/character).
Helping the Production Manager, Director or Designer to source necessities for the performance, as needed for the smooth running of the production. This duty is likely to be last-minute and require quick action.
Helping the Production Manager and Director with the pastoral care, and mental well-being of the company members, being the first point of call for general company member queries.
Checking the correct placement of props and costumes prior to the run or performance.
Helping performers to be in the right places, enter the stage at the right times with the right props/costumes.
Any other duties as may be reasonably required in the course of your duties or as instructed by the Producers from time to time.
To hold or being willing to obtain a DBS certificate
Preferably hold a clean drivers’ licence
Preferably hold a First Aid qualification
