About the Role 

Body Politic is recruiting a Marketing Manager to create and coordinate marketing activity and digital content as we begin to re-launch our extensive delivery programmes and professional development opportunities.

About Body Politic
Founded in Oxford in 2012, Body Politic is a not-for-profit hip hop theatre company, committed to creating issue-based work through performance and participation.

Our work targets young people and artists from priority groups including, Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, gender, young offenders, and those excluded from accessing high quality art due to inaccessibility or cost.
As well as our professional touring, Body Politic runs weekly street dance classes targeting vulnerable young people from deprived communities in Oxford. Whilst there is dance provision in Oxford for young people; many are excluded due to cost. These sessions are run in partnership with Dancin’ Oxford and funded through Access Sport, Public Health and Oxford City Council.

Key Responsibilities
• The role will involve developing and implementing an active marketing campaign across Body Politic’s social media as well as individual campaigns to target engagement and participants for different programmes/projects.
• Design all marketing assets including but not limited to: graphics, GIF’s, trailers, flyers etc
• Monitoring audience engagement across Body Politic socials, collating and tracking effective posting, to further implement strategy within the marketing plan.
• Liaising with relevant companies, organisations and charities to inform them of upcoming engagement opportunities but also engage for asset swaps in order to reach new audiences. e.g. mental health charities, organisations and forums; mental health practitioners; dance organisations and practitioners; young people focused organisations; youth groups; Hip Hop theatre companies, etc.
• Update Body Politic’s website where necessary and create supporting documents to promote Body Politic and prepare the company for life post Covid-19, i.e. a new info pack.

Essential Experience
• 2-3 years’ experience in a media environment with a focus on developing brand, campaign and delivering content.
• Ability to write strong and compelling promotional copy.
• Skilled use of editing software (Photoshop, iMovie etc.) where necessary and have access to this on their computer/laptop.
